Raquel Nissen Memorial Fund

Dear Friends,

Our sweet friend, Raquel Nissen, passed away in late May after a long battle with cancer.  We are all devestated and heartbroken.

She and her husband fought fearlessly until the end, trying every cancer treatment option available. Even through the pain, Raquel kept a strong faith and positive attitude. Her motto was F*ck cancer, and she braved through it like the warrior women she was.

She inspired many of us to fight alongside her, and became an advocate helping others through their own cancer battles. She was an Angel here on earth, and never gave up believing that a cure was possible.

Raquel was a beautiful soul, who enjoyed spending quality time with friends and family. She had a magnetic personality that drew people to her, and was instantly loved and adored by everyone she met. She was charismatic and intelligent with a wickedly funny sense of humor. She loved making everyone laugh.

Known for her loyal friendship, she was surrounded by friends for life from elementary school, high school, college, work, and her MMA and Jiu Jitsu families. She was caring and thoughtful, sending cards and gifts "just because" to loved ones going through sickness or challenging times to give them support and hope that everything would be alright. She donated generously to help causes she cared about, and organized fundraisers to help others. Her generous heart inspired others to give generously too.

Her family was her foundation and her rock of strength, especially her soul mate Brandon, who helped her through her cancer battle. Their love story was admired by all who knew them...in sickness and in health, they braved through life together.

Because she gave so generously, we want to give back to her family during this difficult time to cover costs for her Celebration of Life (planned for June 24), and enormous medical bills from her final months of treatment and hospice.

We ask for any help you can provide to support Raquel's husband and family.
