Rapzilla.com Continue the Legacy

UPDATE: We are overwhelmed, blessed, and grateful that the Christian rap community showed up in a major way for Rapzilla. We were able to hit our goal in three days, right before Christmas, and for that we are thankful. Because of the generosity shown by you all, we are able to confidently enter our 20th year knowing we have a support team behind us that loves CHH and still values our place in it. For the time being, we are going to leave the GoFundMe up until the New Year because every donation counts in helping us out moving forward.

Thank you all, God Bless, and have a great end to your year. We literally wouldn't be here without you all.

- Rapzilla

Original Description:
Rapzilla is gearing up to celebrate our 20-year anniversary in January, and what should stand as a landmark time, especially coming after Christmas, is actually a bittersweet and frustrating time for us. As you may have noticed, the Rapzilla website has not been functional for the last few months. We’ve been experiencing major issues going back to the summer between being hacked, crashing, and working with developers who were paid, and not able to get the job done.

To put it bluntly, we are in a financial crisis that could ultimately prove to be the end of Rapzilla. Here are the numbers, we’ve thus far spent $6,000 on people who couldn’t resolve the issues. It’ll be at least another $6,000 to restore the site and get it to a healthy place by a team we know can get the job done. We have also accumulated some debt because we have not really been able to monetize the website in four months.

Through it all, we have been able to faithfully pay the staff, pay for commitments, and even invest in the Rapzilla Freshmen at Flavor Fest. Unfortunately, we can’t take it any further.

In the 20 years, Razpilla.com has existed, we’ve never asked our audience to pay to read our site. We’ve never solicited donations and never taken investments. We’ve just always tried our best to deliver the best new and up-and-coming Christian Hip-Hop.

Christian Rap artists who have paid for advertising on our platforms thank you for investing in yourself through our platform. We’ve been able to keep our prices affordable because of our steady readership and artists coming through our platform.

We are launching this GoFundMe and asking that you help us raise $15,000 to help cover the costs of getting Rapzilla back. There are nearly 10,000 articles on there that serve as a record of CHH history dating back to 2003. If we cannot restore the site, all your favorite interviews, stories, or sections that you enjoyed reading on the site will be gone.

Rapzilla has over half a million followers on our socials combined and we were averaging around 100,000 readers a month. If we could just get ¼ of you all to donate $1, we’d hit our goal.

It’s the Christmas season, and we know it’s not the best time to ask for money, but this is all we’ve got right now. If you can’t donate, we’d appreciate a share and a prayer as we try to make our comeback to celebrate 20 years with you all.

Thank you so much, Merry Christmas, and God Bless.
