Rapunzel Needs Your Help

My tiny 3-legged kitten tore a ligament in her remaining hind leg. Because of her missing leg, her insurance company won’t cover any of the cost of x-rays and care for the injury.  They say her missing leg predisposes her to other injuries.  As you can imagine, medical bills have been extremely high given her condition. At 5 months old, tiny 2 pound Rapunzel was dropped at Best Friends Animal Shelter in a box by a woman experiencing homelessness, Rapunzel was malnourished, missing a back foot, and had a severe intestinal issue requiring immediate surgery. The Best Friends staff was shocked that she was still somehow clinging to life. She immediately received intestinal surgery and began recovery with her foster parents (my friends, Kelsey and Brendan). While she grew and thrived in her foster home, Kelsey and Brendan began to notice she was rubbing the stump of her leg raw as she ran around the house. She wound up needing to get her entire leg amputated in November 2020. Despite the tumultuous ups and downs of medical challenges and no matter what pain she experienced, Rapunzel was sweet and adoring, with a hugely loving personality. In December 2020, Kelsey reached out to me about adopting Rapunzel. She bragged about her sweet, cuddly, ever positive personality, saying "this cat has to go to someone I know. She's so amazing." In January 2021, the adoption was finalized and Rapunzel moved in with me and my roommate Rachel, where she has continued to grow and thrive.

We may be biased but we think Rapunzel is the best kitty in the whole world. We want to get her the care she needs and deserves but could greatly use any help you have to offer to do so.
