Rapidly growing medical expenses; surgical costs

Hi friends,

my name is Tristin, I am lucky enough to call one of the greatest men on this earth, my Papaw. Donnie lights up every room he enters, keeps everyone laughing and always has Godly wisdom to share. He is a loving husband to his wife, Terri. A great father to his 2 girls, Tara and Heather and the worlds greatest papaw to his 4 grandkids, Tristin, Camary, Destiny and TC.

A few months ago he was cleaning out the garage and was moving some heavy items. The next day he complained of rib and shoulder pain, considering his age I immediately thought he’d pulled a muscle. He iced it and took ibuprofen but weeks went by and the pain only progressed and grew to other areas. After beginning to worry we made a doctors appointment to get it checked out where the physician refused to write an order for any type of scan, XRAY or labs to see if this was a bigger problem and sent him home with physical therapy orders for a “pulled muscle”. Therapy refused to touch him without imaging proof that there was not a deeper issue. Going back to the physician she again refused to write for him a XRAY or scan. After over a month of doctors visits we finally found a physician that ordered the X-ray..

Life began to spiral at what seemed like a million miles an hour at this point. A mass was seen on the XRAY, in the shoulder. An MRI was ordered and stated the mass seemed to be metastatic. Being a God fearing, praying family we immediately rebuked the news and awaited a good report. After labs and a PET scan weeks later (earliest we could be seen), we have now found out that the cancer in fact has spread and at a very rapid pace. Not only is it in the right shoulder, but now in multiple bones and lymph nodes. The tumors have taken over his arms and he has almost no use of his right arm related to excruciating pain and the left arm is following right after.

We have been referred for a bone biopsy to diagnose the exact type of cancer being that there are multiple types of bone cancer it could be, in order to begin a treatment regimen. We are now having 1-2 doctors visits a week. Multiple medications being prescribed and awaiting multiple upcoming surgeries. Possible chemo/radiation treatments, travel expenses, so many missed days of work, medical equipment needs to make life safe/manageable such as a lift chair, modifications to their bathroom/shower for safe access and so much more.

Being low income it has added so much additional stress on my grandparents, having to pay for all of these expenses and costs. Family is pulling together as we can but it’s just not coming close to the amount we are seeing in expenses. Lord knows the expenses to come.

If you find it in your heart to bless my Papaw Donnie and his wife, my nana, Terri I know they would appreciate each donation more than you absolutely know. Your donation would be such a blessing. If you aren’t able to bless them monetarily, PLEASE if you’re a prayer warrior my family would appreciate every single prayer that is lifted up. Regardless of the medical diagnosis, my God is still a healer and the ultimate physician. We are still praying and believing for a miracle testimony. So please be praying and believing with us that just as the Lord said, the battle is already won and we will come out of this victorious.

Thank you from the very bottom of all of our hearts. Each donation and prayer means the absolute WORLD! God Bless ❤️
