The young boy whose desperate plea you will hear in the video below is Raphael.  He is 9 years old and lives in Casablanca, Morocco.
In his short lifetime, Raphael has experienced more trauma than most people can fathom.

When Raphael was only three months old, he lost his dad to a prolonged courageous battle with cancer. Since then, Raphael’s mom devoted herself entirely to him, making sure he never wanted for anything, while keeping his beloved father’s memory alive. 
Sadly, following three unsuccessful knee surgeries, she became bedridden nine months ago and is now unable to care for herself, let alone Raphael. 

The situation became so precarious Raphael and his mother were forced to sublet a room in their two-bedroom rental to help pay for everyday necessities. 

Faced with mounting expenses, they need our help more than ever.  A fourth extensive surgery, physical therapy for at least two years, weekly sessions with a psychologist for Raphael himself, and the basic cost of living (school, rent, food etc) threaten this family’s ability to survive.

In the midst of all this tragedy and desperate to help his mother pull through, Raphael has sent us all a heart-wrenching cry for help.  It is up to us to open our ears and hearts to this nine-year-old’s plea and restore his faith in humanity, through our compassion and mercy.  Any little bit helps.
