Ray Gaughan Fund

On May 14th last word reached Knockmore that a good friend and longtime clubmate, Ray Gaughan, had suffered a serious accident while working in London. Originally from Rathbane, Ray had only recently moved to London for work before suffering a terrible fall which has resulted in 'life-altering' damage to his left leg. Ray has received excellent care but doctors have advised him that even with ongoing treatment and rehab the likelihood is that he will have significantly reduced mobility in his leg.

Ray is facing into a very tough challenge and we can only wish him the very best of luck on the road ahead. Unfortunately there will be very substantial costs over the coming months and years - Ray will have to remain in London for the forseeable future to continue receiving treatment, significant alterations will have to be made to his home due to his reduced mobility and obviously his injury will have major long term implications for Ray's work as a painter & decorator.

A proud Knockmore man, Ray enjoyed a long and successful career with both Conn Rangers and Knockmore - he was part of the famous Rangers U18 team that won the Connacht Cup Final in 1992 and was still coaching at underage level with Knockmore until recently. We appreciate that a lot of people are under pressure just at the moment but Ray is one of our own who has found himself in a very difficult situation and any and all support is greatly appreciated. With three young children it's a very worrying time for Ray and his family so if you are in a position to help out please donate and keep them in your prayers.
