Update: 01/25/2025 Surgery went well, but Randy suffered a stroke, and a heart attack. The stroke was significant, affecting the right side of his body. He will not be able to return to work as he has a long road ahead of him in recovery rehabilitation. It's not easy to ask for help financially, but the expenses that go with this type of medical issue are not something that is planned for. If you can give, even a little...it will help immensely. Hi, I'm Randy Butler. I'm 68 years old and a cancer survivor. Due to radiation and chemotherapy 7 years ago, I now have Osteoradionecrosis of the jaw. In other words, the radiation has killed off blood supply in my jaw and infection is eating my jaw away. I am currently eating soft foods to prevent my jaw from breaking due to how thin the jaw is. I am scheduled for surgery January 23rd for a bone graft from my leg up into my jaw. It is an 8+ hour surgery and I will be off work for at least a month to let the leg and jaw heal.

I am trying to raise money to cover the deductible, co-insurance, and related surgical expenses. I will be taking time off work and will not be paid under FMLA. Funds will help ease the mind and take stress off my wife of 35 years, who will have enough to worry about in caring for me and my recovery. I don't want her to worry about money as well.

It is not easy asking for help. I am old school and a hard worker. I have been with the same company, Wanzek Construction (now MasTec) for over 15 years. My wife and I have been working to pay off all debt before I retire. We have a few more years to go on that goal. I ask for a bit of your help with the promise, I will pass it on when I recover.
