Randy's Liver Transplant

Hello!

We are raising money for my Dad, Randy's liver transplant. In 2019, Randy was diagnosed with liver failure, a terminal condition without the aid of a transplant. For the past five years, our family has been working toward getting Randy approved for a transplant surgery. Fundraising to show that we can financially support the transplant is one of the last steps to be done before surgery approval. We are excited and hopeful to be in these final stages of getting Randy's second chance at life.

Randy is a father of three, and has five grandchildren. He is a Navy veteran, an avid hunter, and a lover of the outdoors. He worked as a car salesman in Butte, Montana for 25 years, where he loved helping customers find the car that was perfect for them and their family. Randy was heartbroken when he had to quit his job as a result of his illness.

Randy still lives in rural Montana, and there are no hospitals nearby who are able to perform the surgery. Randy was referred to the University of Utah Hospital located in Salt Lake City, where he will be receiving the transplant surgery. Liver transplants are major operations which require extensive hospitalization as well as extensive outpatient services. Because of this, Randy will require round-the-clock care. Randy and his caregivers will need to relocate to Salt Lake City for three months for post-transplant care.

The money raised on this platform will go directly toward paying the relocation expenses for Randy and his caregivers, travel expenses, caregiver's lost wages, and any medical services not covered by insurance.
