Randy's Heart Needs Your Support

Hello, I'm Wendy Decker, Randy Decker's sister, and I'm developing a GoFundMe page to help my brother during a very difficult period in his life.

He barely survived a heart attack and will now be out of work. He doesn't have a job with benefits, and without paid time off from work, he's unable to make his bills during his recovery. In addition, he will now have medical bills that include large copays. Luckily, he has insurance. He will be going to a cardiac rehabilitation center. At this time, we are unsure of when exactly he will be able to return to work, but he has already been out a week and can expect at least another 2-3 weeks out.

To cover a month's worth of bills and the medical copays, I established a goal of $5000, but anything toward that end will be much appreciated. Many of you know Randy from growing up in Gloversville and others through his work doing lights for Tommy V Live for many years, as well as for other area bands. Unfortunately, he will also lose income from these gigs as well. Randy is a kind person, always there to lend a hand for others; now it's our turn to lend him our hand.

On Sunday, May 11th, when he experienced indigestion and broke into a cold sweat, he had no idea he would end up in Saratoga Hospital. He required emergency surgery, having two overlapping stents in his LAD artery (AKA The Widowmaker) since it was 100 percent blocked, which is most often fatal. Since his heart attack, he has a long recovery as the doctors evaluate the degree of damage. Currently, his heart remains at 35% but is improving. He was informed it will take a few months before he returns to normal activity, and knowing Randy, we won't be able to keep him down.

Anything you can give to help him get through this medical emergency so his basic needs are maintained and he can focus on healing would be much appreciated. Thank you!
