Randy Tinsley Jr. Medical and Expenses Fund

On Sunday evening October 25, 2020 our dad Randy Tinsley, Jr. suffered an aneurysm—a life-threatening bulge in a blood vessel in the brain—which ruptured and caused excessive bleeding in his brain. He immediately collapsed, lost consciousness, and was airlifted to UC Hospital where he had brain surgery to relieve the bleeding.

Aneurysms are often fatal with a 60% survival rate. By the grace of God, he has defied the odds by making it through hours of brain surgery and has already began making periodic moments of progress including responding to commands to look in a certain direction and squeezing our stepmom’s hand.  Although he seems to be slowly progressing, he is currently in the ICU on a ventilator and other supportive machines.

Anyone who knows him knows he is a hard worker who will do everything he can to help those who need it. All of his friends, family, co-workers, and even people who only have briefly met him will tell you the same—he works tirelessly to make sure everyone else is okay.

When our stepmom, his wife Patricia, was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago, he took care of her while working full time at FedEx—a job he loves, and he practically lives in his uniform—and never missed a beat to make sure he also made sure his children and grandchildren were taken care of. As he is the sole breadwinner, we are worried about our stepmom not being able to handle all of the medical bills.

Fortunately, he and our stepmom do have insurance but they will need assistance paying the copay, deductible, potential physical therapy—and other essential bills as we are not sure if he will ever be able to return to work. We are hoping to provide them with as many resources and financial aid as we possibly can as the road ahead is sure to be difficult. We aren't certain if the amount we are requesting will be enough to cover even a fraction of the expenses, but we knew we had to start somewhere. Please consider donating—ANYTHING will help. No donation is too small.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

Desiré, Amiee, Randy, and Kristen
