Yesterday, July 1st, my brother, Randy Poindexter escaped death once again. If you know him, then you know he utilized his 9 lives a long time ago. Randy was helping me take down this tree at my “flip house” in The Village. One second he was standing next to me and the next second he was on the ground and I was holding his scalp in my hand. Robyn, the trauma nurse who happened to be driving by when it happened was tending to his gash on his wrist. He received more stitches than the trauma care team could count. Everyone was so amazing, I cannot thank all of the first responders enough, and friends who came and stayed with us until late last night. You may also know that Randy is “hard headed”. Miraculously, his CAT scan was clear; no brain bleed, no skull fracture, and somehow his tendons on his wrist/hand were okay. On June 30th, Randy’s insurance with the county expired, and his new insurance with his oil and gas field job has not yet taken effect. He does have temporary coverage with an extremely high deductible and will have loss of wages, due to not being able to work for awhile. I will ask Randy his forgiveness later for doing this…..asking for your help to help him and his family get through this temporary moment.
As for the tree, I was on my way this morning to cut it up and get rid of it, but Sabrina called and stopped me. She said Randy woke up long enough to say, “stop my sister from getting rid of that tree….I want to make a table out of it”.
