Randy Lowe - Heart Transplant

I am reaching out to request financial assistance for Randy Lowe and his family, to cover recent and upcoming medical expenses associated with a needed heart transplant.  The Lowe's have been family friends of ours for over 13 years - our kids have grown up as friends / teammates and Randy has coached our son in both football and wrestling.  They are some of the most genuinely kind, caring and good people I know and would be the last ones to ask for help themselves (but are always so willing to help others in need)! 

After some off and on health issues this summer,  Randy was evaluated at KU Med Cardiac Center in late July.  It was discovered that he is experiencing advanced congestive heart failure.  His best course of treatment is a heart transplant.  After many tests, he has been officially accepted and was placed on the transplant list on August 18th.  At this time, he is at home with IV heart medications and is continuing going about his daily life as best he can, including teaching and coaching if possible this fall.

There is an urgent need for funding as many of the medical bills have started coming in for Randy's procedures and tests to date, dental work needed prior to a heart transplant, medications, etc., and  Randy will continue to have significant medical expenses for the rest of his life.   I was hoping you would consider contributing to the Lowe family as soon as possible to help them with the significant medical expenses they have begun to incur, particularly if Randy will have to be off work for an extended period of time.   The funds will go directly to the Lowe family (they will be the only ones to have access to them) to cover Randy's ongoing medical expenses.

Randy and Staci are both high school teachers (Physical Education and Health) and coaches, at Blue Valley West and Blue Valley Southwest respectively.  They have been married 27 years and have three children: Brianna (a sophomore at Kansas State University), Brooks (a junior at Blue Valley West HS), and Brynn (an 8th grader at Aubrey Bend Middle School).

For those of you in the wrestling community - Randy has been coaching in Kansas (primarily Wrestling, football and track) since 1985.  He has been the only Head Coach for the Blue Valley West High School wrestling team since the school opened in 2001.  Here are some of the Kansas schools he's been affiliated with:

The Lowe's have also been longtime, active members of Grace Church in the Overland Park / Stanley area.   In Staci's words from a recent CaringBridge.org journal entry, she asks:  "Please continue to pray for us, that Randy would be able to receive a heart before any other major procedures are needed and that the donor family would feel God's love and plan for them as well."  In addition to asking for financial assistance for the Lowe's, I ask you to please keep them in your prayers, as well.
