Randy Ivan's Fight Against Brain Cancer

Donation protected

We are sharing our story because of a very special person, Randy Ivan.  He can use all the prayers and support he can get right now.  Randy is the kind of person that as soon as you meet him, you just know he will be a friend for life.  He was born and raised in Massillon, Ohio and is the brother of Rich and Jamie Ivan.  Randy is so loved by each and every one of his family members and friends. He is a big fan of the Massillon Tigers and has a close circle of friends who share the love of the game.  Chris and Leah Rinder are longtime high school friends of Randy and could not ask for a more loyal and true friend.

In April of 2019, what we thought to a be a sinus infection sent Randy to the ER with unbearable headache pain. After further testing doctors discovered a massive tumor on his brain that led him to brain surgery on May 1st. That day we all would face the unbelievable and unimaginable news “It’s brain cancer” , Glioblastoma Multiforme Grade 4. This is the most aggressive form of brain cancer and has no known cure, yet, but we are hopeful. https://www.abta.org/tumor_types/glioblastoma-gbm/

Before this horrible life-changing disease, Randy and Katy were going about life with their two boys Dylan and Cooper and their beautiful granddaughter.  They were finally at a point in their life where they could relax and enjoy their family. Randy was the General Manager for Dad’s Car Care Center for 23 years and never missed a day of work. He truly loved his customers and put his whole heart into his work.  He is the kind of person that would do anything for anyone, and would never worry about himself.  Randy, being the sole provider for his family, is no longer able to work or drive so you can imagine how hard this is for him to process. Aside from the physical toll this has taken on his body, the financial burden continues to cripple his family due to this debilitating disease.

After his brain surgery and learning what to expect in the future with his on-going treatment plan, we knew we couldn’t let Randy and his family fight this fight alone. This battle is more than any one family should have to fight.

We are all hoping that with the efforts of this fundraiser we can pull together and meet their needs and truly show them how much they are loved.  Any amount of a kind donation will lift some of the burden they are facing whether it is in the form of money or you sharing our story. This will allow Randy and his family to spend quality time together without the constant financial stress and worry. Thank you for caring enough to help.
