Update (09-12-2021): According to Rambo's owner, he has been doing well. He has regained his appetite, and he finished all the food. He also pooped once on the 11th and once on the 12th. He even got naughty in the crater since he wanted to go out and play. In general, Rambo is in good spirits, and we believe he is recovering. The doctor said he should be back in the hospital to remove stitches in 2 weeks. We will also follow up with the doctor to do another blood test at that time. Hope he will be fully recovered soon!

Update (09-10-2021): Rambo had his second surgery on September 9th in Berkeley Pets Referral, and he is discharged from the hospital on September 10th. The doctor and nurses said he is a good boy, and he is in good condition. The total cost of the second surgery was 3675 so I just adjusted the goal of this fundraiser. Really appreciate all the friend's help, hope the puppy will recover and get active very soon!

Rambo (9-month old german shepherd) had stopped eating for 5 consecutive days, and we sent him to St. Louis Veterinary Clinic in Oakland California. The doctor took an x-ray on him, and the diagnosis was he had some foreign object in the intestine, which requires immediate surgery. We had no insurance and still decided to have the surgery immediately. Rambo had the surgery in St. Louis Veterinary Clinic on August 30th (which turned out to be a 100% mistake later). We picked him up on the next day which is September 1st. For the next 3 days, we observed bleeding from his surgery wound and took him back to the doctor, and it turned out the doctor and nurse were super impatient, and they tried to deny any possible responsibility, and they took out some form to ask us to sign. They even tried to do a sound recording of our conversation. We returned home without additional treatment from the doctor. On September 7th, things seemed to get better since Rambo had started to gain appetite back, he finished all the food we gave him which is some solid food soaked in chicken soup. And prior to September 7th, we have been given him liquid food most likely. He also pooped on the 7th.

However, something terrible happed on the 8th. On the morning of September 8th, we observed that part of Rambo's intestine is exposed outside of his wound (the surgery stitches)! We were so terrified, and we took him to Berkeley Pets Referral ER hospital, Dr. Lee over there took a close look at Rambo, and she told us Rambo needs immediate surgery to put the intestine back and clean up things inside since his organs are exposed to a dirty environment. At this moment, we cannot afford the additional surgery since it may take up to 10k to do this surgery and the upper limit might be even higher. We are heartbroken about Rambo, and we feel so regret that we did not buy insurance before all these happened. We are a new immigrant family without a stable income, and we do not want to give up on Rambo since he is so young.
We are asking for a donation from you in order to treat Rambo ASAP. We really appreciate your help, and thank you so much for your consideration and kindness!
