In August 2014, Randi, our nineteen-year-old daughter and big sister, had a bite on her leg, by what we suspect was a spider. Within a week, a lump, the size of an egg, appeared on her rib. Then various symptoms began: fatigue, achy muscles and joints, tremors, inflammation and pain through-out her body, sensation of having a bloody nose (but her nose is not bleeding), and weight loss. She has been unresponsive to steroid treatments. After seeing many doctors and having many tests ran, for various diseases, they have been unable to diagnosis her or treat her. We do not know, at this point, that the spider bite is the cause of her symptoms, but we are doing everything we can to get her better. The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN will be taking her case this March. We will be facing large medical expenses and travel expenses; we are very hopeful that the doctors and research team at the Mayo Clinic can provide some answers and help Randi.
