Many of you know our mother as a positive and upbeat member of her community, always willing to have a conversation and quick to share a smile. This past year has been such a difficult time for so many families and individuals, and while we truly wish the effect would not burden our family, it has.
Our mother has significantly lost out on hours at work due to COVID-19. On February 8th, she tested positive for the virus and not long after was admitted to the hospital where she has been under frequent care in the ICU. Her symptoms have progressed to COVID pneumonia and she is keeping her spirits up as she always does while fighting to take each breath.
As a family, we are worried about the cost of her incurring medical expenses and the lost wages from not working during this time. Our mother has been a radiant light and helping hand to many, and now is in a position to need additional help herself. We are raising money to offset the cost of her treatment and to make sure she lands well on her feet to see this through. We would not be asking if there was not significant financial need, but while we are hoping every day for the betterment of her illness we are becoming increasingly stressed with the strain of expenses.
