Hello Friends and Family,
As most of you know Dawson was born 8 weeks early and had to stay in the NICU for 56 days. Since leaving the NICU we have had to continue to take him to weekly apts. Anything from PT to GI visits. When Dawson first left the hospital, we were fortifying my milk with some formula to help him get the calories he needed being so little. Well since leaving we have had to continue to play with the calorie intake and even jump on formula only for just a little bit. He was not gaining weight at the speed they wanted him to so unfortunately on Monday this week our journey continues with having to be admitted into the hospital for a small procedure that will hopefully help him gain weight quicker than he has been. He had an NJ tube placed which bypasses the stomach and goes straight to the small intestines to be able to absorb it faster and hopefully not give him any reflux with it.
Our current miracle baby who once weighed 3.14 oz at birth is now at 9.4 at 5 months old. Unfortunately, with the NICU stay, mama's stay in the hospital, all our test for Dawson and now this admission we are going to be swimming in some medical bills. Anything to help us would be much appreciated.
He seems to be in good spirits most of the time, but as many of you know or have experienced being in a hospital you don't get much sleep...even as a baby. But Dawson is continuing to show us his beautiful smile and we are all well taken care of by the staff at ETCH.
