My mother-in-law, Donna and my father-in-law, Mark have lost their ranch located off of Mines Road due to the SCU Complex Fire. 

This past weekend, Mark fell and broke his hip and had to be airlifted to the hospital in San Jose. Donna stayed up at their ranch taking care of the cattle and chickens and then the lightning storm occurred the next day causing a huge fire near their property. By that Tuesday, Donna had to evacuate and grabbed her dog, Kona and a tote of clothes and drove down the mountain. As the fire continued to spread, their property disintegrated. The devastation of both of these catastrophes have left Donna and Mark to rely on family, friends and others in the community to help provide shelter and care.
