Dear fellow Buffers (friends of Rana),

Our most delightful Rana has discovered a most unwelcome tumour in her breast . She has been diagnosed with ‘pleomorphic invasive lobular carcinoma. Surgery is imminent and ongoing treatment will follow.

As many of you know 2024 has been an ‘annus horribilis’ for Rana’s family, with flooding destroying the lower story of their house and a tree falling though the kitchen roof, rendering it unusable. Neither part of the house has been repaired, which will mean Rana and her family will be required to move out for a time so that the repairs can take place.

Rana will need to step back from her role as an aide in class 5 at Dandenong Ranges Steiner School for at least 10 weeks as she recovers from surgery. Rob will also be required to take time off from work to take care of Rana and parent the children.

Rana is an extraordinarily loving and funny human being. She gives endlessly of herself to the people she travels through life with - she gives her time, her loyal friendship and her witty, wicked humour. All who know her will have enjoyed rubbing shoulders with her over the years.

We are striving to help Rana, Rob and their children receive support and to take as much stress out of the challenging months ahead. It is our time to nurture them with generous financial support. Please give what you can. All contributions, are welcome and most greatly appreciated.
