Ramses road-trip to rescue
Donation protected
My name is Jeremy and I’m a twelve year volunteer at my local animal shelter in Seattle, WA. My favorite thing to do is work with the dogs in need of a home. One dog who came in awhile ago named Ramses became fast friends with me during his stay. While he’s a great dog who knows many commands, loves people, lives with cats and doesn’t mind most other dogs, he needs special consideration to succeed in a home. For this reason, he went into multiple foster/adoptive homes before returning each time.
Due to his need, the shelter felt his only recourse was to go into a rescue able to work with him. The good news, a rescue was found who is willing to work with him. The bad news, the rescue is located in California. The shelter has stepped up huge to make this transfer even possible. The cost associated with that is significant.
I’ve offered to drive Ramses down to his new rescue, but need help paying for the gas and motel for the trip. While the shelter has offered to cover these, I want to limit their costs associated with this transfer. So I’m reaching out to my fellow volunteers, friends, family and beyond to help raise at least enough funds to cover the gas and motel room for the trip.
The trip is ~600miles one way. My van gets around 17mpg. Gas comes to ~$385.00 round trip(so long as I avoid filling up in CA). Motel comes in at $160.00. That’s $545.00 to cover both. After GoFundMe’s 2.9%+$0.30 fees, that’s what I’m asking for to start this request.
Anything raised above this amount will go right back to the shelter to reimburse expenses for the fee charged for this transfer.(training, vet care and housing per animal) So please give what you can.
I thank you.
Ramses thanks you.
My van’s gas tank thanks you.
