RAMPING UP FOR CAROL PONDER

Donation protected
Dearest friends. Ten days ago Carol had a neurological event connected to Polycythemia, a blood disorder with which she has been diagnosed. She is still hospitalized and will be for at least another week doing physical therapy. The most important thing is that she is all right. She is just in need of mobility assistance. With our wonderful friends John Chaffin and David Coniglio, we are going to build a wheelchair ramp before Carol comes home next week. What we need from you is help in getting the pressure treated wood, brushes, sealer, et. al. That’s it. Anything left over will go to things like shower chairs and the myriad expenses that come with illness for the elderly. I think $1,200.00 will cover it.

For two out of those ten days Carol went away, far, far away and became someone entirely new and fascinating. I can’t promise success, but I am going to try and turn it into a one act that would make Sam Shephard proud. Basically she had a first-class ticket on the Woo Woo Train, and I hope to document it. If any of you ever find yourself in a similar situation with someone in your life, try reaching them with some of Shakespeare’s love poetry. Trust me, it helps.

What will also help is if you can donate any amount, $10.00, $25.00, $50.00…Then, forward this request to your friends with a line or two from you about how Carol has touched your lives, then ask them to forward it. That’s how the magic happens.

Thank you all. There are no words to describe how much Carol and I love you.
