Help the Jonas-Panno Family
Rumi Aspen Jonas-Panno was born on May 14th to proud parents Mareyna Jonas and Ron Panno. As many of you know, Rumi was diagnosed with an obstruction in her small intestine and had to undergo surgery a few days after being born. A surgery this complex could not be done at the hospital near Reyna and Ron's home, so for the final weeks of the pregnancy they had to stay in San Francisco near UCSF Bennioff Children’s Hospital where Rumi would be born. To prepare for Rumi’s arrival, they uprooted their lives and moved into temporary housing four hours away from their home. They spent over 43 days moving from place to place in San Francisco--from an apartment, to countless hospital rooms, and finally into UCSF family housing. Rumi underwent her surgery just 72 hours after being born and then spent her first weeks recovering in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Her health will be closely monitored and follow-up appointments will be necessary, but happily they are home now together as a family.
Please consider helping the Jonas-Panno family financially. The medical bills for the surgery and follow-up appointments are already in the thousands and both parents had to spend a great deal of time away from work in order to ensure Rumi’s safe arrival. By contributing to this GoFundMe, you can relieve some of the financial burden they are facing, which will allow them to focus their energy on being new parents and enjoying time with their sweet daughter.
