The Florida State University Krishna Lunch in Tallahassee has been shut down by 2 bugs! Can you believe it? And we need your help to get it re-opened again. After 25 years of serving daily hot vegetarian prasadam lunches on campus we are closed down. Why? The first bug, believe it or not, is a termite. We discovered they nested in our building above the kitchen. A building inspection told us the whole story. The building foundation was sinking and the walls are severely cracking inside and out. The roof was leaking badly from age and termite damage. The building, kitchen, bathrooms and main hall have been badly damaged by all of the above. The building is about to collapse now with your help we can save Krishna Lunch!
The 2nd bug is the deadly COVID. Krishna Lunch was serving 150 students per day in February and then in March the university shut us down due to fear of the virus spreading. This was our only source of income. They have not allowed us to re-open yet. But the mortgage, utilities and other bills keep coming. Your donation will also help us keep the doors open until the virus threat goes away. Watch and hear the students appreciation for Krishna Lunch and you will feel how much it means to them.
There is no other choice for students to get fresh hot vegetarian lunch.
Here are some pictures of the repairs that are so desperately needed so the building does not close down. Help us save this important building and Lunch program. Send your donation of $500 or even $5 and share our story with your friends. Together you and I can beat these bugs and keep Krishna Lunch alive. We have workmen ready to start right now! So, please send your donation now.
