On Monday, November 21st Ramiro had left home for Chico, where he was studying for the year.
Ramiro was traveling east on the SR 299 when he failed to negotiate a left turn, sending him to a head on collision into two trees. Ramiro was then transported to St. Josephs Hospital in Eureka. Ramiro had suffered severe head trauma, at around 10:00 pm Ramiro had passed away, succumbing to his injuries.

The passing of Ramiro has impacted us all. Being raised in the small, yet close community of Mckinleyville had helped shape the respectable, kind, and genuine individual that we remember today. We all will always remember his vibrant smile and iconic laugh. We will always remember his good intentions and the impact and memories he has left us all with. Ramiro was a strong individual, a friend to many, brother, uncle and son.

He will be dearly missed.
The Melecio family faces tough times in the upcoming weeks, both emotionally and financially. We ask you, the community, and all those who knew Ramiro to help in anyway possible. All donations will go to funeral and memorial expenses.
Anything helps and anything is appreciated.
