Ramesses Chemo fund to help Byron and Inky
Donation protected
In a sad turn of events, we have learned our beloved Siamese boy Ramesses has lymphoma; a form of cancer centered in the lymphatic system.

Originally the tumor was misdiagnosed as an abscess and we went through many weeks of antibiotics, abscess draining, and two false-negative biopsies to address the problem. However, his third cytology report revealed the growth on his neck was cancerous.
Upon review with an oncologist last week, we got our first bit of hope since learning our precious feline son had cancer. We learned lymphoma is the most treatable form of cancer for a cat. With an aggressive chemo process, they estimate a 70% to 80% chance of fighting off the cancer and giving him a chance to live.
We may still need to have surgery to remove the tumor in his neck once the chemo has reduced the tumor, however. The tumor in question is also between his trachea, his jugular, his carotid, and a cluster of nerves, making the surgery a dangerous and a difficult choice, not to mention expensive.
I am not one to do anything like this. Inky couldn't imagine asking for help. But I have learned that we have good friends who are willing to help friends. So here I am starting a go fund me.
We are hoping to get some help with the cost of the Chemo treatments, ranging from 350 to 550 per week, and preparing for a potential neck surgery that will require cash/credit on hand if it is needed (or even possible.)
Ramesses began chemo treatments last Thursday 4/2 and will be doing three different treatments, a new one each week. On the the fourth week he will get a break and start another round the following week. Currently they are asking us to prepare for up to 25 weeks of treatment. We are, of course, hoping for less, since he has responded really well to his first treatment. Better than the humans I have known who have gone through similar.

With the current pandemic situation, and my learning on the Friday following our decision to proceed with chemo treatments that my hours at work would be cut, this is an increasingly difficult financial situation for us. We need help maintaining chemo treatments by asking for help on payments, as well as keeping emergency room on credit cards in case situations change or emergencies in the family occur.
Thank you in advance to everyone who is able to help us through either a financial contribution, sharing this fundraiser, or just sending us love and good thoughts. We know this is a difficult time for everyone, and not the optimal time to need financial assistance, but when does tragedy ever really occur at a good time?
