Urgent Ramadan COVID-19 Appeal For Afghanistan

Our Goal
Ramadan is a month of generosity, spirituality, and togetherness — and in less than 30 days, thousands of children and displaced families in Afghanistan will begin observing their fasts from sunrise to sunset with their loved ones. These uncertain times will make it especially challenging for children who work on the street and child labor factories while fasting long days with limited access to clean water, food, health services, and other basic needs. As the world has been witnessing lately with COVID-19, things can escalate quickly at any given moment, and all this makes children even more vulnerable than others. By donating $100 you can keep a family of 6-7 people safe inside of their homes, away from COVID-19, for over a month!

During the holy month of Ramadan, CWB in collaboration with Watan Project, Lamia Afghan Foundation, and the Afghan Society of Warwick have decided to join forces together to bring an end to extreme hunger and to extend our help to the most vulnerable families in Afghanistan. As some of you may know, hunger has been a major issue for many families in Afghanistan and more than 7 million Afghan children have been affected amid the global pandemic. It’s time to bring an end to hunger this Ramadan and save lives!

What will be distributed?
This year, we want to be the bridge of help between you and those families in desperate need of help. With your generous donations, we will provide Emergency Food Relief packages to families who are at risk of starvation during this pandemic. The packages will include one month of grocery supplies that will include items such as:

Rice (25kg)
Flour (40kg)
Oil (10 Litres)
Beans (4kg)
Chickpeas (4kg)
Tea (1kg)
Sugar (1kg)
Salt (5 Packs)
Other basic food essential items...

These packages will be distributed to families who are mostly widows with child laborers, orphans, disabled and elderly living in different provinces in Afghanistan especially those heavily affected by COVID-19.

Who are we?
Children Without Borders is a registered non-profit organization based in Toronto, Canada with the mandate of eradicating child labor in Afghanistan.  At CWB, we provide access to education and financial assistance to poverty-stricken families in Afghanistan for the purpose of reviving and rebuilding Afghanistan.

The Watan Project is a group of young Afghan-Americans based out of Southern California that hopes to make a difference in the Afghan community. They teach our youth about Afghanistan’s rich history, talk about issues in the Afghan community, as well as lead by example with their humanitarian efforts in Afghanistan. Members of the Watan Project hope to inspire a movement in hopes that other young Afghans will join them in their journey to create a better Afghanistan.
