Brother Abdullah’s work for the community is unparalleled and he has provided solace to community members who have lost loved ones. He has been there for us throughout the winter and in freezing temperatures and also in the middle of the Covid-19 crisis. It’s time to thank him for his sacrifice and hard work because we are a community of gratitude. We can’t really thank him enough for his tireless efforts and exceptional community service. He is the backbone of our community and a valuable asset.
He does what many people don’t like to remember or pretend it doesn’t exist and he has done it a thousand times, washing, preparing and burying Muslim brothers and children and he will do it no matter what the condition of the human body is in when it’s brought to him and he does it with the utmost respect for the body, their privacy, and family members. He is always very kind with his words and actions.
He also helps organize, transport, and bury sisters when they have been washed by other sisters. Brother Abdullah will help you coordinate everything at the mosque for the funeral. He oversees & coordinates the Ghusl Mayyit, Salat al-Janazah and graveside burial. He can assist with any questions regarding any of these or to help you prepare for a nearing death. He runs Janazah Project MN for people to follow for regular updates on community news and daily burials as well as WhatsApp Janazah Group. May Allah reward him immensely for his contribution and sacrifice to our community. Ameen.

The entire amount donated will be paid to the recipient, Muhammad Abdullah, and the funds will be used for his personal expenses, to pay bills such as phone and internet, which are used to send and receive Janazah messages and his other financial needs including transportation expenses to and from the funeral home. He’s always traveling to take care of the deceased community members, washing them and taking them to their resting place or final home which is the grave. He is also a consoler and comforter of the grieving families of the deceased community members.
I will be withdrawing the funds on behalf of the beneficiary at the end of the campaign and then deliver a cashier’s check to him. I will ask some community leaders to go with me and witness as I hand over the check to the beneficiary. This is exactly what we did in the last campaign for the beneficiary. We will take a group picture when we deliver the check and share that with the donors and on social media for transparency.
I have known brother Abdullah for more than 15 years and he’s a very close friend of mine and a brother in Islam.
