This Ramadan, your donation will help us provide reliable monthly food support to families in Egypt, and expand our Mobile Food Bank to reach even more households.

Salsabeel Charity was founded by an Egyptian-Canadian mother and son to support families in Egypt who are struggling to keep food on the table as prices rise and incomes remain unstable. At first, we gave directly to people in need during our annual trips to Egypt. Over time, we realized we wanted to help in a way that was more consistent, transparent, and sustainable. What began as simple, personal giving grew into a shared effort, and we formalized that work by incorporating Salsabeel in 2022, registering as a Canadian charity in 2024, and appointed a 5-person board of directors in 2025. Our entire organization is volunteer-run.

In August 2025, we launched our biggest initiative a Mobile Food Bank. We started by supporting 12 families in Siwa. We have quickly expanded, and today we support 35 families in total, including 25 families in Siwa and 10 families in a low-income suburb of Alexandria (Borg Al Arab). Each month, that means essential groceries for more than 100 people, most of whom are widows, older adults, and children. For many households, these food bags are not a bonus. They are a lifeline.

We keep the model simple so your donation goes further. Volunteers coordinate locally with vendors, compare prices, and negotiate where possible to stretch each dollar into real meals for real people. We also take transparency seriously. We operate on a 100% donation model. Administrative costs are covered separately by the founders, so donations go directly to families in need.

This Ramadan, we are raising funds to expand our food bank in Siwa and support more families with reliable monthly groceries. For every $360 we receive, we can add one family to the program for a full year. If donors would prefer we do direct cash distributions instead, we can do that as well, delivered to families already in our food bank. If you can donate, thank you.
