Omar Touray is 18 years old and lives in The Gambia with his three younger siblings. He recently lost both of his parents, and as the eldest, he is now solely responsible for caring for his family.

After his parents passed away, Omar was forced to drop out of school because he could no longer afford the school fees to continue his education. To provide for his siblings, he used to go into the forest to cut firewood and sell it at the local market. With the small amount of money he earned, he would buy food for his family.

However, the government has now banned access to the forest, which means Omar has lost his only source of income. He currently has no way to support his siblings, and the family is struggling to meet their most basic needs.

With Ramadan approaching, this situation is becoming even more urgent. Fasting without reliable access to food for suhoor and iftar places an even heavier burden on Omar and his siblings.

This fundraiser aims to support Omar and his family throughout the month of Ramadan by covering:

Basic food supplies (rice, oil, flour, dates, vegetables)

Essential household expenses

Any urgent needs that arise during the month

All funds raised will be sent directly to Omar so his family can receive immediate support.
