What is it?
Ramadan is about sacrifice, patience and discipline. A time to demonstrate unity and come to the aid of those who need assistance. There are thousands of people in the UK in dire need of some of life’s most basic necessities such as food, water, clothing and shelter. As citizens of humanity, it is our moral responsibility to come to their aid and assistance. What is a FAST? No food or water from Dusk till Dawn, only fresh air. Lots of it. Some benefits..
Three Physical Benefits
1, It boosts cognitive performance
2, It enhances heart health
3, It promotes blood sugar control by reducing insulin resistance
Three Mental Benefits
1, Be grateful for what you eat, some don't have what you have.
2, Don't Indulge, control the instant gratification, take control.
3, Dont structure your days around mealtimes, be free, eat when you need.
How we're aiming to support?
For every day we fast, which is 29 or 30 depending on the sighting of the New Moon we will donate £1 each to Emmaus Burnley. £1 for each day we fast, this is a combined £120 give or take. What Can YOU do? No pressure, but these are the options to take part.
1. Join us, fast for half a day, a full day, a week or the whole month and donate £1 for the day you fast.
2. Don't fast but feel free to match our donations if you can afford too, disclaimer only if you can. No pressure at all.
3, Dont fast, just kick back and carry on. We got this.
