Hi, my name is Natasha and I am fundraising for my nephew Ralyn Parkhill. Ralyn has Duchenne muscular dystrophy and has been wheelchair-bound since he was 5 years old. He was admitted to the hospital 3 weeks ago and has undergone two life altering surgeries. He now has a feeding tube and tracheostomy (also known as trach). This is basically a tube attached to his throat that allows him to breathe with the assistance of a machine. His recovery is taking longer than expected and my sister is with him at the hospital around the clock. We are also learning that his at home care after discharge will be much more intensive, requiring 24 hour supervision.

I am hoping to raise some money to hire a private nurse or caregiver to help with his care and provide some respite for his mother as the sole caregiver. As a result of my sister’s constant care of Ralyn’s needs, it has made making ends meet even harder. Please consider donating and know that every dollar will go to his recovery and ongoing care needs.
