RALPHIE NEEDS US.
Ralphie is only about a year and a half old, but he has already known far too much uncertainty for one young dog. He landed in the shelter after some time on the street. For a big, sensitive boy, that environment was simply overwhelming. He was scared, confused, and eventually placed on the red list.
In his final hour, Olive’s Retreat Dog Sanctuary stepped in and saved him.
They didn’t just see a large, untrained dog. They saw his softness. His sweetness. His potential to be someone’s loyal, devoted family companion. They believed that with patience, structure, and love, Ralphie would blossom.
And he has.
He was enrolled in one of the top training facilities in Los Angeles to help set him up for a stable, successful future. Every day he has been gaining confidence, learning, and showing more of the gentle soul that was always there.
Now, just as his new life was truly beginning, Ralphie is facing a sudden medical crisis.
He is currently at the emergency veterinary hospital with a suspected gastrointestinal blockage. The cause is still unknown, and doctors are working urgently to determine what’s happening and how to help him. These emergencies can happen unexpectedly and without warning.
The estimated cost of his care is $8,000.
For a rescue that steps in during the final hour, these moments are devastating. But they are also the moments that define what second chances truly mean.
Ralphie survived the shelter. He found people who believed in him. He found safety.
I cannot let this be the chapter that ends his story. There are just too many dogs out there that never find their happy ending.
If you are able to donate, share, or even just hold him in your thoughts, it truly matters. Every contribution brings him closer to healing and the forever home he has been working so hard toward.
