Hi, I am Ralph Calkins, and was diagnosed with Pancreatic

cancer one month from retirement in November 2024.

Since then, I have had many ups and downs with my treatments and am in my third round of chemotherapy. I am traveling to Tampa, Fla. to

go to the Moffit Cancer Center for advanced treatments.

After retiring from the oil field, I was looking forward to getting back into woodworking and driving trucks, both of which I love.

I have spent my whole life following my passions and giving to those less fortunate. I returned to working in the oil field from Kenai to the North Slope, all the while giving a helping hand to those in need. Now I can truly understand what it feels like to need a helping hand.

Since my diagnosis, my life has taken a turn towards operations, doctors, and treatments of various kinds. Some of the treatments are not covered by my insurance, and are quite costly.

I am currently in the process of trying to find treatments/clinical trials across the country, and am starting to feel the pressure of mounting expenses associated with travel. lodging, and unexpected medical costs not covered by insurance. Treatments and associated expenses will be a lifelong endeavor. Each gift and prayer will help my wife and I afford to receive the medical treatments to kill this disease.
