Ralph Bode's Medical Relief Fund

Hello, I'm Kelly Bode and I'm asking for donations to help my father with medical bills and life expenses. He is a beloved member of our community, a Seaside High school alumni, truly hardworking, caring, and is the best father anyone could truly ask for. He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was only 13 years old. Though he managed this fairly well throughout his life by injecting insulin everyday, unfortunaley he has gone through three major amputation surgeries on his right leg this past year. After the third amputation below his knee finally healed, he got a prosthetic leg and is able to walk short distances now. He had to quit his occupation he's done for many years as a contract postman for the hwy 26 route/Hamlet route, Cannon beach/Arch Cape route, the Gearhart post office, and others. He worked countless hours and went above and beyond for many postal customers and is very loved by many. Sadly, all the surgeries, doctor visits, and other medical expenses have added up and his insurance only covers so much and with little income, it's been challenging to say the least.

Now for the heavy part, as he was about to return to one of his less physical demanding routes, he now has been diagnosed with CANCER in his tonsils of which is both devastating and so detrimental. His first appointment at OHSU about the cancer progression and how to treat it is later this month but the stress of all of this, physically, mentally, and financially is not helping him. I thank God for my step mother Jeanne who has truly been a saint helping my father with everything physically and loving him as much as I do. With the start of the new year, he will again have to pay his insurance deductibles, and all the other expenses it didn't cover with his amputations and now even more with his cancer treatment. He's a prideful man and probably won't like that I'm doing this but I'm asking for your help. I know he plans on fighting his cancer anyway he can. I suddenly lost my mother to lung cancer three years ago and the thought of losing my dad too is beyond devastating. So please, if you can donate, anything will help. He raised me all on his own and is everything to me. Thank you so so so much.
