On Friday, 10/16 at 4:15 pm, we received a call that no one wants to receive. My Father, Randy Hydrick, had been in a motorcycle accident on I-26. Daddy was rushed to Richland Trauma unit and worked over, it would be hours before we got a real update on his condition besides the initial phone call. Upon arrival Daddy was responding to commands, had an initial CatScan that revealed he had cracked ribs, a broken shoulder, and a hematoma on his head. While in transport to the ICU Daddy became unresponsive and had to be rushed into emergency surgery to relieve pressure and bleeding into his brain. Daddy made it out of surgery which was a huge relief and made it through his first nights stay in the hospital. We have been told the first 72 hours are critical in telling us what will come in the upcoming days. Daddy is currently heavily sedated to avoid movement that could do more harm or cause more injuries, he is in the surgical/trauma unit still and we do not know any timeline as to what will happen next. My family and I are overwhelmed by the friends (new and old) family, and even strangers who have heard his story or know of his testimony and have continued to pray for his healing. Daddy is a true believer in the power of prayer. Dad was recently married to the love of his life (honestly I have never seen him this happy in my 30 years) to Viki Moore Hydrick, between the two they have 6 children Ashleigh, Bonni (me), Carsyn, Alisa, Nolan, and Dylan. It is amazing that from day one, we instantly all clicked together. Our family dynamic is truly one of books, one that God wrote himself. We are all devastated by the incident and are staying as strong as we can for each other and our families, Daddy would want it that way. I am creating this go-fund-me because my Daddy owns his own business, Palmetto Custom Woodwork, he is a sub contractor for a builder in Chapin, Gallup and Laffette. Dad has never had medical insurance and he has a long road ahead of him. While in his stay he has 3 children who are still living at home in school at Mid Carolina High School and Middle School, a mortgage, utility bills, car payments and now I'm sure very high medical bills are on the way. This is something that no one ever thinks will happen to them. Viki (Lolli) as my kids call her has been so strong, and has so much to worry about, finances shouldn't have to be one at a time like this. This is something out of character for the Hydrick family, our Daddy raised us to not ask for charity, however so many people have asked what they can do for us and our family in this time. THIS, this will make a huge difference. I want my Daddy to come out of this on the right side happy, healthy and ready to take on life, I do not want him to have to worry about what has happened. Please consider donating anything you can, the funds will go straight to VIKI to ensure the children are taken care of and the medical bills are taken care of in the future.
