Rallying Support for Mercedes Mera

Hello, Friends and Family, today is a sad day because one of my friends named Mercedes Mera (who is pictured on the right) is definitely in need of your help and in need of a lot of support. Tears rolled down my cheeks once I found out that my friend was recently diagnosed with cancer. Mercedes suffered through 6 months of back and forth to multiple hospitals, having been seen by several Doctors and Nurses, and they all came up with the same conclusion that she has nothing more than a common cold. If anyone of you know Mercedes then you know that that she is a fighter and she won’t stop until she finds what she believes is the truth. After several opinions she still was convinced that this was much more than a common cold.

Mercedes had several MRIs, Cat scans, Bronchoscopies and much more, she finally went to see a specialist and was given the correct diagnosis. Mercedes was right, she didn’t have a common cold and she was told that she has stage 3 lung cancer. The 6 months of fighting the wrong issue is now starting take a toll on her body and her moral, she also has bouts of prolonged coughing throughout the day and night, and has completely interrupted her sleep. This month in October is the first time that she’ll begin radiation treatment and chemo therapy.

While Mercedes does have insurance, she is still responsible for co-payments ranging from $50.00 - $1300 depending on the service that’s needed at that time. After talking to Mercedes and her awesome daughter Sylvia I discovered that what’s needed for them is

1.     $5000, this will help to offset the cost of the treatments required

2.     Daily travel back and forth to appointments because Mercedes is not able to drive. 

3.     Help cleaning around her house.

4.     Help cooking healthy and nutritious meals for her.

5.     Prayer is extremely needed for a speedy recovery for our dear friend.

The money will help with her co-payments and your time will give her peace of mind while going through radiation. Any support will help Mercedes and her family to get the treatment that’s desperately necessary for her to fight this illness that’s un welcomed inside her body.
