Never did we imagine that after navigating the complexities of a long-distance relationship and the emotional journey of finally being together after four years, we would be facing a new, unimaginable challenge.

In January 2024, shortly after I emigrated from the UK to America, my mother in law Sonia was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. The news was devastating and shocked our entire family, but we remained resolute and strong. Almost ten months later in November 2024, just as Sonia was starting to be on the mend, my wife Yesenia was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer — a rare and aggressive form of the disease after locating a small lump in her breast. This diagnosis was completely unexpected, especially since it isn’t hereditary, and she doesn't carry any known genetic markers. What was supposed to be the start of our life together has turned into a battle against cancer for not just one, but two incredible women I deeply care about.

The kindness, empathy and generosity from our friends, parents, and colleagues have been a beacon of hope during this difficult time. We were told initially that Yesenia that the lump was benign, but after two lumpectomy operations, Yesenia was later diagnosed with Stage One Cancer. Having now established clear margins, Yesenia is now completing intense doses of preventative treatment. Unfortunately, this intense treatment over the next 3 to 4 months will severely limit her ability to work as a model and as a pageant coach — her passion and livelihood.

We are humbly reaching out for support to assist us in covering the overwhelming medical bills, fertility preservation and living expenses as we navigate towards the finish line. Your contribution, no matter the size, would mean the world to us.
