Hi, my name is Laura and I am a personal family friend of Vianey Hernandez and her husband, Jimmy. I attended Mission Community Church with them before I moved out of state to NC in 2024.

My heart is heavy as I share, they have just lost their home and all of their belongings in a devastating fire that consumed everything including precious memories. In a matter of moments, everything familiar was gone.

If you know Vianey and Jimmy, you know the kind of people they are — the ones who show up first, love deeply, serve quietly, and bring light into every room they enter. They have wrapped so many of us in kindness, encouragement, and unwavering faith. Now it is our turn to wrap our arms around them.

This is a moment for our community to rally.

Right now, as they begin to process the shock and assess what comes next, the greatest need is financial support. Even before they fully understand what they need, we can step forward in faith and generosity. Every gift — large or small — will help create stability in the days ahead and remind them they are not walking this road alone.

Please also cover them in prayer. Pray for peace in the midst of heartbreak. Pray for strength when the weight feels overwhelming. Pray that they lean into their faith and their love for King Jesus, trusting that He makes a way where there seems to be no way.

And let us love them well — tangibly, generously, and consistently — so they feel the embrace of a community that refuses to let them stand alone.

Now is the time to show up.

Now is the time to give.

Now is the time to pray.

Yes this is a tragedy....but God! I know firsthand what a generous community surrounds Vianey and Jimmy. Let’s rally around them and be the hands and feet of Jesus in this moment. Help be a part of spreading love like jelly.
