Edit 12/31: In under 24 hours, we have collected 15% of our goal. Today, Adam and Morgan are going to take inventory of their home and see what can be salvaged. Their brother has opened his home down the street so they have a safe place to stay.

Adam and Morgan are a remarkable couple who've suffered a tragic loss.

On the morning of December 30th, Adam and Morgan left to run an errand to help their family. When they returned to their home, they quickly noticed that there were billows of smoke and flames coming from their house. As always, Morgan and Adam put their animals first. They rushed in to try to save their beloved pets. Unfortunately, despite their attempts to resuscitate them, they tragically lost 2 of their beloved dogs - Dobby and Nadi - and 2 of their cats - Precious and Hailey. In addition to that loss, their house was deemed an unsafe building by the Fire Department. The kitchen was torched, to no fault of their own, and the entirety of the inside is smothered in smoke. The firefighters had to tear apart the ceiling to distinguish the flames that were creeping up to the roof. Despite the damage to their home, this family's only devastation laid at the paws of their pets that held such huge pieces of their hearts. While their other 2 dogs and 1 cat are safe with them, the pain and loss that Dobby, Nadi, Precious, and Hailey left behind are virtually unbearable.

Adam and Morgan have been loyal fosters for their local animal shelter for the past year. In the past year, they have fostered and rehabilitated 12 dogs who otherwise wouldn't have made it out of the shelter. They take on the terrified dogs who would never blossom in a shelter setting. They take on the undersocialized dogs who would be discarded by those who don't understand the patience it takes to see a horrifically shy dog's true personality. This incredible couple has given so much of themselves to those around them, the dogs they've saved, and their community.

My hope is that these genuinely good people will receive some of that love and generosity in return. Nothing in the world could fix the pain they feel over the loss of the pets they held so close to their hearts. However, they are beyond deserving to have the peace of mind that they can try to repair the charred building they once called home. The building where they held their forever fur babies tight and healed the hearts of so many fosters.

Please, if you can find it in your heart, donate to Adam and Morgan so they can begin to repair their home and start to put the pieces of their hearts back together.
