Support the Hiott Family
The Hiott family is a proud wildland firefighting family on the Los Padres National Forest. Paul Hiott, an old Los Padres Hotshot, is facing an unimaginable loss with the recent passing of his daughter. During this difficult time, they could greatly benefit from our support.
Paul’s leadership, duty, respect, and integrity have made a profound impact on the fire world. He's trained countless young men and women who have gone on to serve with the finest hotshot crews, engines, helitack, air tanker bases, and fire departments across the nation.
Let’s be honest: while Paul might have a head full of grey hair and a couple of new hips (yep- the bionic man), he still shows the young bucks how to hike Laguna every summer. Anyone who knows Paul knows that he is pure comedy and the best face to see on a fire—he’s just the funniest you know what! His determination keeps us all smiling, even on the toughest days. This is our chance to come together as a community and support our brother as he navigates this tragic moment.
We recognize that financial contributions are important, but equally significant is the feeling of support—knowing that your fire family is showing up for you. If you know Paul, feel free to send him a text; however, please understand that he is currently dealing with steep emotional topography and may not be able to respond to everyone.
If you are able, please consider contributing to help the Hiott family during this unthinkable time. Every little bit helps.
Additionally, cards of appreciation, love, and friendship are always welcome. You can send them to:
