Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read Sharon’s story.

My name is Aime, and I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my friends and co-workers at Cook-Walden Davis and Weed-Corley-Fish Leander Funeral Homes, in support of our dear friend and colleague, Ms. Sharon Hughes.

Recently, Sharon has faced a series of serious medical emergencies related to Lymphedema. She is currently in the hospital on medical leave, working toward recovery with all the strength and resolve we know her for.

As a team, we want to come together to help ease some of the financial burden she is carrying during this difficult time. Our goal is to raise funds to assist with her household bills, living expenses, and the ongoing medical care she will continue to need.

Sharon has dedicated her life to serving others. For 16 years, she poured her heart into educating children in the greater Austin community. She has also served as a children’s minister, offering love, guidance, and encouragement to countless families. After retiring from education, she continued her legacy of service as an administrative specialist at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, supporting families with compassion and grace during some of their hardest moments.

If you’ve ever had the joy of meeting Sharon, you know her kindness is boundless. Her passion for people, her generous spirit, and her infectious sense of humor have brought light and comfort to so many. Even in an industry that often carries heavy emotional weight, Sharon has been a source of warmth, laughter, and steady support.

Now, we hope to return some of the love she has freely given to others.
