At just 44 years old, our lifelong friend Paulie (Paul) Materia suffered a sudden and devastating stroke the evening of May 27th—an event that has completely changed life for him, his wife Sarah, and their daughter Lindi.

If you know Paulie, you know he has never been someone who sought the spotlight. Instead, he has always focused on being there for others. Whether it was as a teammate on the field, the friend who could fix your computer, drove you to work, accommodate every media request, built you a gaming console, was your designated driver, or simply someone you could always count on—Paulie has spent his life putting others first. He is the kind of person who quietly shows up, time and time again, for the people he loves.

Now, it’s our turn to show up for him.

Paulie recently underwent a six-hour surgery, and doctors are still working to assess the full extent of the damage and what his road to recovery will look like. The journey ahead will be long and uncertain, involving extensive medical care, rehabilitation, and time away from work. During this incredibly difficult time, Sarah and Lindi are facing not only emotional strain, but also significant financial challenges.

This fundraiser has been created by family and friends to help ease that burden so they can focus on what matters most—being by Paulie’s side as he fights to recover.
