Our family’s life changed in an instant. February 22, 2026 is a day we will never forget. My mom was sitting in her car when she was suddenly shot multiple times in a senseless act of violence. She fought for her life in the ICU, and by the grace of God and the strength she carries every day, she survived. While we are incredibly grateful she made it through such a traumatic experience, her injuries have left her paralyzed from the chest down. If you know my mom, you know she is one of the kindest and most hardworking people you could ever meet. She has always been the type of person who helps everyone around her. One of the things she loves most is fixing cars—she’s always been the person friends and family call when something breaks. She has a big heart, a strong spirit, and a determination that inspires everyone who knows her.

After weeks in the hospital, she has finally made it out of the ICU and is preparing for the next step of her journey. She has been accepted into an excellent rehabilitation center where she will begin the long and challenging process of recovery and learning to adapt to her new life. This road will not be easy. Between medical bills, rehabilitation, specialized equipment, home modifications, and everyday expenses, the financial burden is overwhelming. That’s why we are reaching out to our community for help. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward my mom’s recovery, rehabilitation, and the support she needs to rebuild her life.
