My husband Tom and I are reaching out to all friends and generous souls to help our sister-in-law, Michelle (Shelly) Agricola in her cancer battle.
Michelle and her husband (Tom's brother) Tony have been together since they met as teenagers in San Francisco well over 40 years ago, and have lived in Placerville, CA for more than 30 years. They've raised 2 phenomenal daughters. Their eldest has battled a lifelong fight with cerebral edema, and Michelle has been her daughter's advocate and caregiver thru countless brain surgeries and hospital stays, days and nights of hands on care, without fail or complaint. She has done it with ironclad, selfless love.
15 years ago, Michelle joined the Big Sister program and was partnered with a young 1st grader. That young lady is now 20 years old, and Michelle is her Big Sister to this day. Meanwhile, Michelle has owned and operated her own business as a medical billing professional.
Nearly 2 years ago, seemingly out of nowhere, Michelle suffered seizures that led her to the hospital. She and Tony learned that she had cancer. Primary CNS Lymphoma. News no one ever wants to hear. She faced things head on and underwent treatment. We all celebrated the day she got to ring the chemo bell! It looked like things were getting better, but now it's back and hitting so hard.
Tony is at Michelle's side day in and day out. He always has been and always will be. But he's tired and so stressed. Her daughters are the same. It's time we got them help.
The bills from the past 2 years are already the size of a snow drift. We know there are more bills coming. With Michelle so sick, her self-run business has obviously taken a huge hit as well. Funds are not funding.
Please, if you can donate any amount, it will be appreciated beyond words. This family has been thru so much and it's high time they experience the help and support of our incredible community. I know the right hearts will see this and respond.
