Rallying for Kim and Darrell's Transplant Fund
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kim Mattson. Most of you know that my husband Darrell was diagnosed with liver disease approximately 7 months ago. On January 27th, Darrell was airlifted to Mayo in Rochester after I had to call for an ambulance because he was unresponsive. At that time, it was thought that he suffered a stroke. Well, after being brought to Rochester, the ER doctors determined he was in a coma caused by high levels of ammonia in his blood. Darrell was in Rochester for 9 days. Since then, Darrell has gone through evaluation for a liver transplant. We got the news that he was deferred, which means that he (we) need to do more testing and evaluation.
That being said, we both have not been able to work. I just started back, only working 2 days a week. With not working and Darrell being on a very strict diet, our savings have been depleted. I am hoping that you can find it in your heart to help us out. Darrell will be reevaluated in about 3-6 months. At that time, we will have to stay in Rochester for 3-5 weeks after the transplant. We will need to find housing and find somewhere or someone to take care of our dog if we can't bring her with. This has been a very scary time for us, not knowing what is around the next corner. We thank you in advance for any help you can give.
Love,
Kim and Darrell Mattson
