In August, our dear friend Cory Pickard received the devastating news of being diagnosed with stage 4 Kidney cancer that had spread to his lungs and C3 vertebrae. In the face of this challenging situation, an outpouring of love and support from friends, family, and even strangers has been nothing short of remarkable. People near and far have reached out, asking how they can lend a helping hand. The kindness and generosity shown through acts like delivering food, providing gift cards, and even arranging food deliveries have truly touched Cory and his family's hearts.Inspired by the overwhelming support, a group of us recently gathered to discuss how we could further assist Cory and his family during this difficult journey. So we decided to start a Go Fund me to help. On Tuesday, September 12th, Cory had his 1st immunotherapy treatment, following the recent placement of his iPort on Friday, September 8th. While these treatments hold promise, they have also brought side effects such as fatigue, nausea, headaches and joint pain. Cory will undergo multiple sessions to target specific areas affected by the cancer. Additionally, a significant surgery called a Nephrectomy is planned, which involves the removal of one of his kidney. By cutting off the cancer's main source, the other affected areas will be deprived of nourishment, leading to a more effective treatment approach.Cory and his wife, Ashley, are the loving parents of three wonderful boys. They have always been the first to lend a helping hand to others, never asking for anything in return. Now, it's our turn to rally together and support them through this challenging journey. By offering financial assistance, we can help alleviate some of the stress and worry they may be facing.Together, we can make a difference in the lives of Cory, Ashley, and their boys. Your support will go a long way in easing their financial burden and allowing them to focus on Cory's treatment and recovery. Let's show them that they are not alone in this fight and that we are here to support them every step of the way.Remember, every act of kindness, big or small, has the power to make a significant impact.
