Rallying for Brooke: A Mother’s Fight Against Cancer

Our family recently received devastating news: my older sister, Brooke Pangrazio, has been diagnosed with Stage Four Colon Cancer. At just 33, Brooke is facing the fight of her life, and we’re determined to be right there beside her every step of the way.

For those who know Brooke, you already know what an extraordinary person she is. She’s a devoted wife to her loving husband, Aaron, and the incredible mom of three amazing kids: Kate (11), Jamie (6), and Andy (3). Being a stay-at-home mom is her greatest joy, and she does it with a level of care, patience, and love that is truly inspiring. She’s the kind of mother we all strive to be—thoughtful, present, and endlessly giving.

Brooke has an incredible support group made up of her family, including me and our younger sister, Ally, our parents Jessica and Derald, Aaron’s parents, Brenda and Keith, her friends Celia and Garrett, and countless other friends and loved ones. We’re so grateful for this circle of love, but we’re looking to grow it even bigger as she faces this journey.

Brooke will begin chemotherapy at UAB shortly after Christmas. Early in the new year, she plans to continue her fight at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, where she’ll receive specialized care. The journey ahead will be challenging, but Brooke is resilient, and we have no doubt she’ll face this with the grace and strength that define her.
