Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,My name is Dustin, and I'm starting this fundraiser for my stepfather—my dad—Robin Hanselman. Robin has been my rock since he and my mom got together in 2001. When my mom tragically passed away from cancer in 2018, it devastated our entire family, but Robin stepped up as the only dad I've ever truly known. He's been there through everything, with unwavering love, humor, and faith, and now we're asking for help as he faces his own serious health challenges.Just after Thanksgiving, Robin noticed blood when clearing his throat—a small sign that led to a life-changing diagnosis: cancer in his upper right lung. A PET scan showed suspicion on a lymph node in his neck, with recent testing to determine if it's cancerous. If clear, it's stage 3B; if it has spread, it would be stage 4. An MRI confirmed he has a brain (he jokes it surprised even him!), with full results still pending.Scans also revealed an abdominal aortic aneurysm (being monitored, not yet requiring surgery) and another aortic aneurysm very close to the size needing intervention. Doctors chose to delay surgery for six months to prioritize starting immunotherapy this month (January 2026), so cancer treatment could begin sooner. Remarkably, despite the diagnosis, Robin's lung function tested above average—a sign of his underlying strength.Through it all, Robin approaches this with incredible grace and deep faith in God. He's never feared death, and in recent years, drawing closer to the Lord has transformed that perspective. He often reflects on the Apostle Paul's words in Philippians 1:21, 23-24: "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain... I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body." And from 2 Corinthians 5:6-8: "We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord."Robin sees this not as defeat, but as a chance for a more powerful testimony. While doctors aim for remission through immunotherapy (with good odds), Robin is claiming complete healing, standing firmly on Isaiah 53:5: "By His stripes we are healed." He's already implementing positive changes, trusting God for full restoration beyond what medicine can achieve.Immunotherapy starts now, and while insurance covers much, there are significant out-of-pocket costs, copays, travel for treatments, supportive care, and daily expenses during this time. The aneurysms add future monitoring and potential procedures. Funds raised will go directly to these medical needs and related support, easing the financial burden so Robin can focus on healing.Robin has always been a giver—serving others with a servant's heart. After losing my mom to cancer, he's carried our family forward with quiet strength. Now, it's our turn to rally around him.Your prayers, donations (even small ones add up!), and shares mean the world. We'll post regular updates on his journey, celebrating every step toward healing.Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We're believing for miracles and God's perfect plan. With deep gratitude,Dustin(On behalf of my dad, Robin Hanselman)
