**UPDATE AND URGENT SUPPORT NEEDED FOR THE VARNEY FAMILY**

Esther's beloved husband Scott -- father of Ethan, Bella, Jason, Simon and Charlotte -- passed away suddenly on October 3, 2025 from complications of an aneurysm that started in January of 2025. Not only is the family in a state of shock and tremendous grief, they are facing real financial consequences.

This wonderful family has been through so much and needs our immediate support. While the Denver Actors Fund will generously cover end of life expenses, this fundraiser will go toward easing the immediate financial pressure and allowing Esther and her kids to be able to focus on grieving and healing. Esther has given so much to this community and now it’s urgent for us to give back.

**If you can't give financially there are a couple ways you can still help!**

1) EVERYBODY: Share this page - every extra pair of eyes is another pair of hands that can help our dear friend

2) DENVER RESIDENTS: Join the Varney Meal Train - https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/5lrkzk

3) DENVER ARTISTS/PRODUCERS: Esther's greatest love is seeing all of us create the art we love to make. If you can't give financially, but you have a show coming up, you can offer her a pair of comps! Reach out to us with your tickets and we will make sure it gets to her.

**** PREVIOUS POST ****
If you’ve been part of the Denver arts community, chances are you’ve crossed paths with Esther Varney. Whether she was organizing volunteers, attending your show, cheering from the front row, or just sending a kind message at the right time—Esther shows up. Again and again, she’s poured her energy into uplifting others, giving generously with her time, her heart, and her fierce love for this community.

Now, it’s our turn to show up for her.

Recently, Esther’s husband, Scott, was diagnosed with a serious aneurysm. The condition has affected his memory and personality, and it has taken him away from work—the family’s only source of income. As Scott navigates treatment and recovery, Esther is doing everything she can to keep her family afloat, while continuing to care for their youngest daughter, Charlotte, whose lifelong health challenges have required strength and resilience that only a mother like Esther could carry.

On top of all this, the family of five is currently down to just one working car, adding even more strain to daily life.

Despite all this, Esther remains the warm, generous, and hopeful soul we all know and love. But she needs help.

If you’ve ever been touched by Esther’s support—or if you believe in lifting up those who lift others—please consider donating. Every contribution will go directly toward easing the financial pressure on her family: keeping them mobile, housed, and able to focus on healing and love, rather than just surviving.

Let’s rally around someone who has given so much to so many. Let’s remind Esther and her family that they are not alone.
