An outdoorsman who adores his dog, Maverick. The patriarch of his family; the glue that holds them together. A rough and tough exterior with the most sensitive and kind heart. This is what you think of when you hear the name Randy Young.
On August 24, 2017 at the age of 63, Randy, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Despite the shock and heartbreak he was told it had not spread to other organs and the fight was underway.
Since then Randy has undergone one full round of chemo and while preparing and discussing next steps the tumor grew and pain has taken over. The pain is so severe and requires IV pain management in the hospital. He has been in St. James since January 30th. In addition, Insurance companies and other factors beyond his control have prevented him from being transported to the facility where he can receive pain control AND cancer treatment. Every day counts with this type of cancer and the process has suddenly turned into a constant uphill battle for Randy and his family.
We, his nieces, on behalf of the entire family are asking for your help. The funds raised will be used to offset rising medical bills, travel expenses and to fund necessary treatments and expenses insurance refuses to pay for. We hope this will help with the burden so he will remain strong.
